What are plays, skits, musicals, and movies?
One thing that plays, musicals, and skits all have in common are that they're scripted works. What that means is that there are no dialogue tags or paragraphs, but rather bulleted instructions to tell the actors and actresses what they need to say and do. Basically, this page is about those scripts that form movies, plays, musicals, and skits.
Script, n. "the manuscript or one of various copies of the written text of a play, motion picture, or radio or television broadcast." (Dictionary.com)
Scripts are manuscripts written specifically for performance purposes. Whether it's the next blockbuster movie or a small-town musical, they share this kind of writing all the same. This kind of writing is very different from the others due to it's lack of flowing sentences and paragraphs. However, it is anything but unorderly for it is a written set of directions for the person playing a character within the text. Scripts makes sure that their instructions are very clear to them. Below, there are different forms of scripts (for basically there is no way to truly describe them). The reader will find the difference within the text if they read.
